Advanced Controls dialog box (Thermal/Flow/SST/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of the Advanced Controls simulation object.Advanced ParameterDefines additional solver settings that are available in the advanced parameters catalog.Generic EntityApplies special boundary conditions to the model or special solver options to the solution. |
| Name | |
| Name | Defines the simulation object's name.Description opens an editor that lets you type a description for the simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Region | |
| Appears when Type is set to Advanced Parameter. | |
| Select Object | Selects the complete model automatically. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Set 1 Region/Set 2 Region | |
| Appear when Type is set to Generic Entity. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the boundary condition to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the elements or geometry that define the generic entity.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. The software does not apply the simulation object to the excluded elements.Note: The Element Selection Filtering options are available when the Type Filter list on the Top Border bar is set to No Selection Filter or Element. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Type | |
| Appears when Type is set to Generic Entity. Only available for the thermal solver. | |
| Entity Type | Specifies the type of generic entity.GenericDefines special boundary conditions or solver options.INPF CardInserts parameter keywords and values into the input file of the current solution, changing the behavior of the thermal solver. |
| Set 1 Override/Set 2 Override | |
| Appears when Type is set to Generic Entity. Only available for the thermal solver. | |
| Override Set 1 Region Override Set 2 Region | Let you define the Non-Geometric Element set.Select an existing Non-Geometric Element modeling object from the list, or click Create Modeling Object to create a new Non-Geometric Element. To search and filter objects, see Filter options below. |
| Parameter Definition | |
| Appears when Type is set to Advanced Parameter. | |
| Catalog | Lets you select an advanced parameter from advanced parameters catalog sorted by category.Click and use the Catalog dialog box (Thermal/Flow/SST/ESC) to select an appropriate parameter. |
| Name | Indicates the name of the selected parameter. |
| Type | Specifies the type of value for the selected parameter.NoneIndicates that this parameter needs no value.IntegerIndicates that you must enter an integer number in the Value box.RealIndicates that you must enter a real number in the Value box. |
| INPF Card Entity | |
| Appears when Entity Type is set to INPF Card. Only available for the thermal solver. | |
| Card Number | Sets the card number to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining. |
| Text Input | Sets the text input to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining.Note: To reference the selected groups of elements or non-geometric elements in Set1 and Set2, enter #SET1 and #SET2 in the text input boxes. To reference the reverse side of the selected shell elements in Set 1 and Set 2, enter #REV1 and #REV2 respectively. |
| Text Options tab | |
| Appears when Entity Type is set to Generic. Available for both the thermal solver and the flow solver. | |
| Type | Sets the text string to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining. |
| Subtype | Sets the additional text string to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining. |
| Real Values tab | |
| Appears when Entity Type is set to Generic. Available for both the thermal solver and the flow solver. | |
| Real 1 to Real 8 | Set real values to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining. |
| Integer Values tab | |
| Appears when Entity Type is set to Generic. It applies to both the thermal solver and the flow solver. | |
| Integer 1 to Integer 8 | Set integer values to meet the requirements of the generic entity you are defining. |
