Optimization in Pre/Post

Pre/Post offers several types of optimization, each designed to help you solve specific problems.

Design sensitivity analysis

Using Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran, you can perform a structural or vibro-acoustic design sensitivity analysis (DSA). A DSA computes the rates of change of structural and acoustic response quantities with respect to changes in design variables. You can then use this sensitivity information to perform parametric design studies.

Geometry Optimization

Geometry Optimization is a solution process that modifies the dimensions of geometry features or sketches to achieve a design objective such as minimizing mass.

Simcenter Nastran Design Optimization

Simcenter Nastran Design Optimization modifies physical and material properties and mesh-associated data to achieve a design objective.

Simcenter Nastran Topology Optimization

Simcenter Nastran Topology Optimization modifies the material densities of the elements in a mesh to achieve a design objective while satisfying any design constraints, removing elements that are not needed. You can then export the optimized design to use as a guide for creating a new part.
