Entity labels and names during export (Simcenter Samcef)

The following tables describe how labels and/or names of entities are exported to a Simcenter Samcef input file.

Labels

  • Csys, Nodes, Elements, Regions and Materials labels are exported.

  • Physical properties and Fields labels are not exported.

Names

Many Simcenter Samcef entities either cannot be named or only have an optional name tag. Depending on the target Samcef command, the software uses names to define the Samcef entities, or the software exports the Samcef entities as comments.

Csys No Samcef .FRAME command does not support a name.
MeshMesh Collector Yes Names are also used to define Samcef .SEL groups to assign behaviors (.HYP) to elements.
Materials Yes
Physical properties Yes Names are used to define Samcef .SEL groups and assign properties to elements.
Beams sections Yes
Regions Yes
LBCs (constraints) Yes Boundary condition name is output as a comment entry in the Simcenter Samcef input file.
LBCs (loads) Yes Boundary condition name is output as a comment entry in the Simcenter Samcef input file.
Field Yes
Simulation Objects Yes Name is output as a comment entry in the Simcenter Samcef input file.
Solution No
Solution Step Yes Only for a non-linear analysis solution type.
