External Solver Boundary Condition dialog box (Multiphysics)
| Name | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name for the simulation object. The name appears in the Simulation Navigator and the graphics window. |
| Description | Lets you enter a description for the simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Region | |
| Select Object | Selects the model automatically. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Parameters | |
| External BC Name | Sets the name of the external boundary condition in the CFD model that is solved using the external CFD solver. |
| External Solver | Specifies the external CFD solver that is used to solve the CFD model. Select an existing External Solver modeling object from the list or click Create Modeling Object to create a new modeling object. The modeling object must be selected in the Solution dialog box.Click Edit to edit the selected modeling object.Click More Options to search and filter modeling objects. The following options are available.FindLets you search for an object by entering the full name of the object. For example, to find a region named ABC_region, type ABC_region in the search box and press Enter or click Find . If the object is found, it is selected automatically.Filter by NameLets you filter the list by the names of the objects. This filter supports wildcards. The default wildcard is the asterisk (), and it displays all entries in the list. For example, to filter the list to display every object with a name starting with the letter “a," enter a as the filter string.Filter by LabelLets you filter the list by the label of the objects. |
| Expressions | |
| Lets you specify constant or time-varying values. The software applies all the values to the external boundary condition in the CFD model. You can use only the time auto-generate expression. For more information, see Additional magnitude options. | |
| Temperature | Applies the temperature value that you specify in the Temperature Value box. |
| Mass Flow | Applies the mass flow value that you specify in the Mass Flow Value box. |
| Pressure | Applies the pressure value that you specify in the Pressure Value box. |
| Rotational Speed | Applies the rotational speed value that you specify in the Rotational Speed Value box. |
| Swirl Velocity | Applies the swirl velocity value that you specify in the Swirl Velocity Value box. |
| Heat Pickup | Applies the heat flux value that you specify in the Heat Pickup Value box. |
| Gap Distance | Applies the gap distance value that you specify in the Gap Distance Value box. You can specify only a positive value. |
| Length | Applies the length value that you specify in the Length Value box. You can specify only a positive value. |
| Unitless | Applies the value that you specify in the Unitless Value box. Use this value to transfer a quantity that is unitless. |
