Pre-Solver Parameters dialog box
Use the Pre-Solver Parameters dialog box to set options for the pre-solver.
| Name | |
|---|---|
| Lets you change the name of the Model and Load Pre-processing node that appears in the Simulation Navigator. The software uses the name as part of the result filename. | |
| Output File Units | |
| Units (Force)(Length)(Mass) | Specifies the units in which the software writes the data to the output file. When you select the From Input File unit, the software uses the units in the input file. If units are not specified in the input file, the software uses the units in the MKS system (N)(m)(kg). |
| Specify Temperature Unit | Indicates whether to specify a separate system of units for the temperatures in your model. When the Specify Temperature Unit check box is selected, you can select a unit from the adjacent list. |
| Solver Executable Location | |
| Target Operating System Family | Specifies the operating system for the solver script. Use the solver script file that corresponds to the selected operating system. Systems available are:Autodetect****Windows operating systemUnix operating system |
| Use Environment Variable UGII_PRESOLVER | Uses the location of the executable as specified by the UGII_PRESOLVER environment variable.By default, this variable is defined in the ugii_env_ug.dat file included with the installation. This variable points to the pre-solver executable in the simulation\PreSolver directory within this software's installation directory. With the UGII_PRESOLVER variable, you can customize it to point to different installations. |
| Solver Location | Appears when Use Environment Variable UGII_PRESOLVER check box is cleared.Specifies the script location. Use the Solver Location box to manually specify the directory path or Browse to select or create a directory.Note: The software does not validate the script location when you create an input file with Write Solver Input File in the Model and Load Pre-processing Solve dialog box. Therefore, you can also enter a non-existent script location for Solver Location. The script can be located on a system that you want to use for remote solving. For more information about Write Solver Input File, see Model and Load Pre-processing Solve dialog box. |
| Solver Temporary Directory Location | |
| Specifies the location of the directory where the pre-solver generates input and output files, including results and log files. | |
| Use the Model Directory | Generates solver files in the same directory as the current simulation. |
| Solver Temporary Directory | Appears when the Use the Model Directory check box is cleared.Specifies the solver temporary directory. Use the Solver Temporary Directory box to manually specify the directory path or Browse to select or create a directory.Note: The software does not validate the solver temporary directory when you create an input file with Write Solver Input File in the Model and Load Pre-processing Solve dialog box. Therefore, you can also enter a non-existent location for Solver Temporary Directory. The directory can be located on a system that you want to use for remote solving. For more information about Write Solver Input File, see Model and Load Pre-processing Solve dialog box. |
| Advanced Settings | |
| Memory (GB) | Specifies the RAM allocated during the solve.Note: The pre-solver allocates all specified memory to the solver during a solve, which could affect other processes you want to run simultaneously. |
| Number of Threads (smp) | Specifies the number of threads for solving the solution in parallel (shared memory parallel: SMP). |
| Job Control | |
| Run Job in Foreground | Lets you control whether the solution runs in the foreground or background. You can:Select the Run Job in Foreground check box to run the solution in the foreground so the software is unavailable during the solve. Clear the Run Job in Foreground check box to run the solution in the background so you can use this software while the solve is running. You can even close the software. |
