Edit Polygon Body Resolution dialog box
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Polygon Body | Lets you select the polygon body or bodies. |
| Polygon Body Resolution | Controls the level of tessellation that the software uses to create the polygon bodies.StandardCreates the polygon geometry using the standard level of tessellation. This option provides the best balance between the accurately representing the data from the underlying part in the polygon geometry and the size of the FEM file.MediumCreates the polygon geometry using a higher level of tessellation to capture the curvature of edges very accurately.HighCreates the polygon geometry using the highest level of tessellation. This option is useful for parts in which you want to capture the curvature of edges and faces very accurately. With this option, the software highly refines the tessellation in the regions where edge and face curvature are high.CustomCreates the polygon geometry using the values for maximum distance and angle between facets that you specify. Use this option when you want to have very granular control over how the software refines the tessellation. For more information, see Controlling polygon body tessellation. |
| Custom Resolution Options | |
| Displayed only when Polygon Body Resolution is set to Custom. | |
| Distance | Lets you specify the maximum distance between facets. Click to have the software evaluate all selected CAD bodies and suggest a distance value. |
| Angle | Lets you specify the maximum angle between facets. |
| Recreate Body | Controls how the software recreates the selected polygon body or bodies after you change the level of resolution.Recreate OnlyDeletes the selected polygon body and creates a new polygon body using the original CAD geometry and the selected resolution option. The software also deletes any mesh mating conditions, modifications made with commands in the Polygon Geometry group, and meshes, loads, and boundary conditions associated with the polygon body.Recreate and UpdateDeletes the selected polygon body and creates a new polygon body using the original CAD geometry and the selected resolution option. The software then updates the body so that any mesh mating conditions, meshes, loads, boundary conditions, or CAE geometry recipes are preserved and updated. Use this option when you want to recreate the problematic polygon body and preserve as much of the data that was associated with that body as possibleFor more information, see Tools for identifying and repairing polygon body problems. |
