Analyze strain gages

This example shows how to analyze leg strains from Response Dynamics strain gages. The following durability functions are created when you use the Analyze Strain Gage command:

  • Biaxiality ratio history

  • Effective strain

  • Maximum principal strain

Choose Durability tab→Durability group→Analyze Strain Gage .

Select the strain gages. In this example, 3 strain gages are selected.

  • In the Target AFU File group, click Browse and enter the name of the target AFU file that will contain AFU records of the durability functions. In this example, the name strain_gage_functions.afu is used.

  • Click OK.

In the XY Function Navigator ,

  • Expand the AFU node with the Simulation file name and the strain_gage_functions node.

  • Right-click one or more functions of interest and choose Plot(XY).
