Boundary conditions > Using a node table to create a load
Create a node ID table
A node ID table contains a list of node IDs and corresponding scale factors. You can create a node ID table as a .csv file. The following procedure shows how to create a node ID file for a certain set of nodes in your model.
Select Information → Pre/Post → Node/Element.
Select the nodes that you want to include in the table, and click OK.
In the Information window, select File →Save As. Save the node information to a .txt file.
In a text editor, open the .txt file and delete all data except for the node labels. Your .txt file should now contain only a list of node labels, as shown in the following example:
Open a spreadsheet application. Copy the node label list from the .txt file into the first column in the spreadsheet.
In the next column, enter the scale factor for the node. If you are creating the node ID table for a force or moment, use the B, C, and D columns to define scale factors for each component, such as X, Y, and Z. In the following example, column A contains the node ID, column B contains the X component scale factor, column C contains the Y component scale factor, and column D contains the Z component scale factor.
Save the spreadsheet as a .csv file.
The node ID table is now saved to a file. You can import this file into a field to define the value of a boundary condition that uses node ID tables.
