Response Dynamics
Create a Response Dynamics solution process
You must create a Response Dynamics solution process as the container for your dynamic analysis events, modal and physical response results, and evaluation results.
In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the Simulation file and choose New Solution Process→Response Dynamics.
In the New Response Dynamics dialog box, in the Name box, enter a descriptive name for the solution process. This name identifies the solution process in the Simulation Navigator.
In the Solution list table, select a solved solution to add to the solution process. Valid solutions are:SOL 103 Real EigenvaluesSOL 103 Response Dynamics
(Optional) If you have an event evaluation file (EEF) from a previously solved solution, you can create the Response Dynamics solution process using the saved excitations in that file. In the Event Evaluation File group, select the Import Event from File check box and enter or browse to your EEF file. Note: An initial event is created with the excitations contained in your EEF. You can evaluate this event directly, but you cannot add additional events. See Efficiency through restart analysis for more information.
In the Rigid-Body Tolerance box, enter the frequency tolerance for determining rigid-body modes. In response calculations, the software assumes any mode below this frequency tolerance is a rigid-body mode.
To improve performance when accessing the model across a network, in the Evaluation Scratch Directory Settings group, select the Use Scratch Directory check box and specify an existing local directory.
Click OK.
To change the evaluation parameters for this solution process, right-click the solution process, choose Evaluation Parameters, and update the Evaluation Parameters dialog box.
