Create Abaqus conventional formulation shell elements

Use the 2D Mesh dialog box to create hybrid meshes of the conventional shell elements S3T, S3RT, S4T, and S4RT.

  1. In the 2D Mesh dialog box, select the Attempt Multi-Block Decomposition check box.

  2. Set Attempt Quad Only to On-Single triangle.

  3. Click OK. The software exports S4T with transition element S3T and exports S4RT with transition element S3RT.
