Pre-NX 6 Initial 3D Flow Conditions (Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Electronic Systems Cooling, and Space Systems Thermal)
Note:
Initial 3D Flow Conditions is a deprecated constraint replaced in NX 6 by the Initial Conditions constraint which offers the same functionality and more. See Initial Conditions for more information. You cannot create a constraint of this type in the current version of this software, but you can edit existing constraints.
| Region to Apply 3D Flow Initial Conditions to | |
|---|---|
| Select Object | Lets you select the geometry, elements, or mesh points on which you specify the initial conditions.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. |
| Temperature and Pressure group | |
| Initial Temperature and Pressure | Specify lets you define a local temperature and/or pressure for the selected region.Use Global accepts the default temperature and pressure defined on the Initial Conditions page of the Solution dialog box. |
| Initial Temperature | Specifies the value of the initial temperature. See Additional magnitude options for more information. |
| Initial Pressure | Specifies the initial absolute pressure of the fluid in the selected 3D geometry or elements. See Additional magnitude options for more information. |
| Initial Velocity | |
| X ComponentY ComponentZ Component | Specifies the values of the X, Y, and Z components of fluid movement at the start of the analysis. See Additional magnitude options for more information. |
| Initial Humidity | |
| Humidity | Lets you select the method to define the initial humidity. Relative lets you define the initial humidity by specifying Relative Humidity (%) as a percentage of the partial pressure of water vapor in the mixture to the saturated vapor pressure of water at a given temperature. Specific lets you define the initial humidity by specifying the Water Vapor to Dry Air Mass Ratio.See Additional magnitude options for more information. |
| Initial Scalar | |
| Select Scalar | Lets you select a previously defined Scalar modeling object to specify the scalar mixture, or create a new Scalar modeling object. The Scalar modeling object is a deprecated modeling object replaced in NX 7.5 by the Homogeneous Mixture modeling object and the Tracer Fluid modeling object. See Homogeneous Gas Mixture and Tracer Fluid for more information. |
| Scalar to Mixture Mass Fraction | Lets you specify the initial mixture of the scalar fluid mass to the mixture mass. See Additional magnitude options for more information. |
