Create a fatigue durability object

This example shows how to create a fatigue durability object using:

  • A stress life criterion

  • 100,000 numbers of occurrences

  • The Dang Van fatigue safety factor method

Choose Durability tab→Durability group→Manage Durability Objects .

  1. From the Object Type list, select Fatigue.

  2. Click Create .

  3. In the Name box, type Stress Fatigue Life.The name of the fatigue durability object is displayed in the event dialog boxes.

  4. In the Number of Occurrences box, enter 100 000.

  5. From the Fatigue Life Criterion list, select Stress Life.

  6. Select Event Damage.

  7. Expand the Fatigue Safety Factor group.

  8. From the Output list, select Dang Van.

  9. Select Fatigue Index.

  10. Click OK twice to close all dialog boxes.

You can now use the created fatigue durability object in any static durability event, transient durability event, or when evaluating damage of stress or strain functions.
