Projecting vertex locations in mapped meshes

Use the Edge Mapping option in the 2D Mapped Mesh to project existing vertices to create a more uniform mesh. When you select the Edge Mapping option, the software projects any vertices along an edge of a face to the opposite edge. This forces the creation of nodes at the projected locations on the opposite edge and can result in a more uniform mesh.

Below, (A) shows a 2D mapped mesh created with the Edge Mapping check box cleared. (B) shows the mapped mesh created with the Edge Mapping check box selected.

Note:

In cases in which several vertices all lie in very close proximity to each other along an edge, the software may be unable to project them all.
