Reuse your settings for connection checks

Export and import your connection check settings

You can reuse the activation states and threshold values for connection checks by exporting and importing these settings from an XML file. This allows you to reuse settings for similar models.

1. To export the settings, in the Actions group, right-click a column heading or blank cell in the Actions list table and choose Save Action Settings.

2. In the Select Destination File dialog box, save the XML file in any location.

3. Open another FEM or Simulation model that has connections similar to those in the model from which you exported the settings.

4. To import the settings, do the following:In the Actions group, right-click in the Actions list table, and choose Load Action Settings.Navigate to the file you saved in step 2.

Save your connection check settings to Customer Defaults

You can save your configuration file of global and connection actions in Customer Defaults so that you always start with the same set of actions.

1. Select the Global Audit Actions and Connection Actions you want, and for the Connection Actions, set the tolerance settings.

2. In the Actions group, right-click a column heading or blank cell and choose Save Action Settings.

3. In the Select Destination File dialog box, name the XML file and save it to a convenient location.

4. Choose File→Utilities→Customer Defaults.

5. In the Select Destination File dialog box, name the XML file and save it to a convenient location.

6. In the Customer Defaults dialog box, click the Simulation→Pre/Post→Quality Audit node.

7. On the Check Settings tab, do the following:Click Use Configuration File. For your operating system, click Browse, navigate to the XML file you saved in step 3, and click OK.
