Flow Convergence dialog box (Flow/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of the Flow Convergence simulation object.Whole Fluid DomainLets you specify the flow convergence criteria on the whole fluid domain.Fluid Domain SubsetLets you specify the flow convergence criteria on a subset of the fluid domain. |
| Name | |
| Name | Sets a name for the simulation object. |
| Description | Opens an editor that lets you set a description for the simulation object. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Region | |
| Appears when Type is set to Whole Fluid Domain. | |
| Select Object | Selects the complete model. |
| Region | |
| Appears when Type is set to Fluid Domain Subset. | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the flow convergence criteria to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the elements or geometry that define the fluid domain subset.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. The software does not apply the simulation object to the excluded elements.Note: The Element Selection Filtering options are available when the Type Filter list on the Top Border bar is set to No Selection Filter or Element. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Settings | |
| Specifies the flow convergence criteria for flow variables through their respective modeling objects. You must specify at least one flow convergence modeling object.Select an existing flow convergence modeling object from the list beside each flow convergence variable, or click Create Modeling Object to create a new modeling object corresponding to the flow convergence variable. After you select a modeling object, use Edit to modify it.Use More Options to search for a specific modeling object using sorting and filtering options. | |
| U Velocity | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - U Velocity modeling object stops the analysis when the U velocity reaches the specified threshold. |
| V Velocity | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - V Velocity modeling object stops the analysis when the V velocity reaches the specified threshold. |
| W Velocity | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - W Velocity modeling object stops the analysis when the W velocity reaches the specified threshold. |
| Velocity Magnitude | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - Velocity Magnitude modeling object stops the analysis when the velocity magnitude reaches the specified threshold. |
| Absolute Pressure | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - Absolute Pressure modeling object stops the analysis when the absolute pressure reaches the specified threshold. |
| Absolute Temperature | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - Absolute Temperature modeling object stops the analysis when the absolute temperature reaches the specified threshold. |
| Enthalpy | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - Enthalpy modeling object stops the analysis when the enthalpy reaches the specified threshold. |
| Viscosity | Specifies that the Flow Convergence - Viscosity modeling object stops the analysis when the viscosity reaches the specified threshold. |
| Convergence Options | |
| Output Residual Convergence | Displays the model residual convergence parameters for the flow solver at every iteration in the Solution Monitor. |
| Respect Thermal Convergence | Appears when Analysis Type is set to Coupled Thermal-Flow or Coupled Thermal-Flow-Structural.Forces the solution to respect the thermal analysis convergence criteria. The analysis only converges when the coupled analysis convergence criteria is met. |
| Respect Fan Curve Convergence | Forces the solution to meet the fan curve convergence criteria when fan curves are used in the model. |
| Respect Mixture Mass Convergence | Forces the solution to meet the mixture mass fraction convergence criteria when mixtures are used in the model. |
