Hotspot Recipe dialog box
| Result | |
|---|---|
| Available when you create a hotspot recipe through the Hotspot Recipe Manager dialog box. | |
| Result Location | Specifies the location of the results to include in the hotspot.NodalFinds nodal results within the hotspot recipe search criteria.ElementalFinds elemental results within the hotspot recipe search criteria.Element-NodalFinds element-nodal results within the hotspot recipe search criteria. |
| Result Type | Specifies the result type to include in the hotspot. Available results depend on the analysis type and the specified output requests. |
| Datatype Filter | Lets you apply a filter to focus on the type of results data to include in the hotspot. Available filters depend on the analysis type and the specified output requests. For example, for Specialist Durability results, the filter contains the following and more:Maximum/Minimum/Mean stressCyclic fatigue damageMileage |
| Result Component | Specifies the data component and derived quantities. Different types of results have different data components. For more information, see Vector and tensor components and invariants, Shell resultants, and Beam resultants. |
| Hotspot Criteria | |
| Search Method | Specifies the search method to use to find results data to be included in the hotspot. For more information, see Search methods for finding hotspots.ThresholdFinds all the result values below or above a critical value. You set the threshold value and, optionally, a range (referred to as the threshold type) from which the values can be above or below the threshold value. You also specify the maximum size of the hotspot (its span) and the maximum number of hotspots to find. When generating the hotspot, the software finds the entities that meet the threshold value, including adjacent entities within the offset or factor value. It then finds all continuous elements within the maximum size of the hotspot. RangeFinds entities within a range of values. You can specify to search for entities below a maximum value or above a minimum value. Specifying a minimum value is useful for fatigue life results. Minimum ResultFinds results of a specified minimum value. You also select a sorting range. Maximum ResultFinds results of a specified maximum value. You also select a sorting range. |
| Threshold Value | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies the threshold above or below which results are excluded from the hotspot. |
| Threshold Type | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies the type of range to apply to determine the values above or below the threshold value that can be included in the hotspot.Maximum OffsetA value (in MKS units) is added to the threshold value. Minimum OffsetA value (in MKS units) that is subtracted from the threshold value. Maximum FactorA value that is multiplied by the threshold value. Note: The Hotspot Recipe dialog box displays a unit for factor. This is ignored and the factor is unitless.Minimum FactorA value that is multiplied by the absolute value of the threshold value and then:For a maximum search, it is subtracted from the offset. For a minimum search, it is added to the offset. |
| Offset/Factor | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies either of the following depending on the Threshold Type:If Threshold Type is set to Maximum Offset, specifies the value (in MKS units) that is added to the threshold value. If Threshold Type is set to Minimum Offset, specifies the value (in MKS units) that is subtracted from the threshold value. If Threshold Type is set to Maximum Factor, specifies the value that is multiplied to the threshold value. If Threshold Type is set to Minimum Factor, specifies the value that is divided from the threshold value. |
| Minimum Span of Hotspot | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies the minimum number of entities to include in the hotspot that are adjacent to the entity that meets the threshold value (the critical entity) and are within the threshold range (type). |
| Maximum Span of Hotspot | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies the maximum number of entities to include in the hotspot that are adjacent to the entity that meets the threshold value (critical entity) and are within the threshold range (type). |
| Maximum Number Of Hotspots | Appears when Search Method is set to Threshold.Specifies the maximum number of hotspots found. |
| Results Below Value/Results Above Value | Appears when Search Method is set to Range.Lets you specify that the results data found are either above or below the specified values. |
| Sort Maximum Result | Appears when Search Method is set to Minimum Result or Maximum Result.Specifies the type of sorting range to apply to determine the values above or below the maximum and minimum values that can be included in the hotspot.By Value OffsetIncludes entities within a span of maximum or minimum values and an absolute offset (MKS units), which is subtracted from or added to the minimum or maximum values.By Percentage OffsetIncludes entities with result values equal to: (Min + Minpercentage)Or result values equal to:(Max - Maxpercentage)By Number of EntitiesIncludes only a specified number of entities with maximum or minimum results values. |
| Offset Value | Appears when Search Method is set to Minimum Result or Maximum Result and Sort Max Result By is set to By Value Offset.Specifies the offset from the maximum or minimum value a result value can be to still be included in the hotspot. |
| %Offset | Appears when Search Method is set to Minimum Result or Maximum Result and Sort Max Result By is set to By Percentage Offset.Specifies the percentage from the offset a result can be and still be included in the hotspot. |
| Number of Entities | Appears when Search Method is set to Minimum Result or Maximum Result and Sort Max Result By is set to By Number of Entities.Specifies the number of entities to include in the hotspot. |
| Create Recipe From Selected Entities | Lets you select the entities on which to perform the hotspot recipe search. By default, the hotspot recipe searches the entire model. |
| Select Object | Appears when the Create recipe from Selected Entities Only check box is selected.Lets you select the entities that you want included in the hotspot recipe search. |
| ID | Appears when the Create recipe from Selected Entities Only check box is selected.Sets the entity ID to include in the hotspot recipe search. After you type the number, click Apply ID String to select the specified entities. |
