Random Signal Function Creation dialog box
Generates random signal function data that satisfies the specified Mean value and Standard Deviation.
| Input Parameters | |
|---|---|
| Minimum Time value | Sets the starting time of the function. |
| Maximum Time value | Sets the ending time of the function. |
| Time Increment (delt) | Sets the time increment to evaluate the function. For example, the software uses (Maximum Time - Minimum Time) / Time Increment to determine the number of data points for the function. |
| Amplitude Value | Sets a value to scale the amplitude of the resulting data. Note: If the Amplitude Value is set to 1.0 (the default), the resulting amplitude is determined by the Standard Deviation. If the Amplitude Value is not 1.0, the new function will have a different Mean and Standard Deviation than the specified input values. The Mean and Standard Deviation will be scaled by the Amplitude Value. |
| Mean Value (mu) | Sets the mean value for the generated data. |
| Standard Deviation (sigma) | Sets the standard deviation for the generated data. This is the square root of the average of the squares of deviations about the mean of the set of data. The standard deviation is a statistical measure of spread or variability. |
| Ordinate Type | Specifies the ordinate type to create a function based on your requirements.DisplacementForceVelocityAccelerationAngular DisplacementAngular DisplacementAngular VelocityAngular AccelerationUnitless Scalar |
| Unit Type | Selects the units for the function. |
| Output | |
| Record Name | Specifies the Record Name of the function. |
| AFU File | Sets the path and file name of the AFU file where the resulting data will be saved. You can enter a valid AFU file full path name. You can also click Browse to select the file location. |
