Export and import lumped mass connections

You can export and import XML files or spreadsheets.

Export lumped mass connections

You can use the exported XML or XLS/XLSX files in NVH Composer.

1. Make the FEM file the displayed part and the work part.

2. Choose Home tab→Universal Connections group→Export Mass .

3. To select the lumped mass connections that you want to export, click the individual connections or folders in the Simulation Navigator. To select multiple connections, press Shift as you click the connections.

4. In the Output File Units group, select the units you want to use, and in Select file to export, click Browse to navigate to a location or file. If you navigate to a location, the File to export dialog box opens and you can select the format of the file to export. If you select an XML, XLSX, or XLS file, the connections are exported to that format.For more information, see Lumped Mass Export dialog box.

5. Click OK. Only connections defined with selection recipes or a mesh that is associated with property IDs (PID) are supported. If you defined connections with other entities, a warning message appears.

Import lumped mass connections

You can import XML or XLS/XLSX files that contain lumped mass connection files that are created in NVH Composer.

1. Make the FEM file the displayed part and the work part.

2. Choose Home tab→Universal Connections group→Import Mass .

3. Click Browse to navigate to the file you want to import.

4. In the Input File Units group, select the units you want to use, and select the destination folder. The folders in the spreadsheet or XML are created in the destination folder.

5. Click OK.

6. Check the connections that show a status of Invalid, and then realize the connections.For more information, see Create and edit universal connections.
