Post-processing > Displaying results in post views
Stepping through a series of results
For results over time or iterations, you can step through the results in order or select the results to step through.
Stepping through the results in order
Use the Next Mode/Iteration and Previous Mode/Iteration commands in the Result group of the Results tab to step through the displayed results in order through each load case, iteration, and sub-iteration. For example, if Displacement - Nodal Magnitude results are displayed in a post view, the Next Mode/Iteration command displays the results for each of the three load cases, in order.
Selecting the results to step through
Use the Set Load Case and Iteration command to select the load case, iteration, or sub-iteration to step through. It also provides sliders to quickly move between results.
Note:
The Set Load Case and Iteration dialog box does not step through result probe or free-body results.
To access the Set Load Case and Iteration dialog box, right-click the background or a contour plot of a post view and choose Set Load Case and Iteration.
To display a result, move a slider to the result you want to display. To select a particular result to display, in a box next to a slider, type the ID of the results. To step through the results in order, click **Next Result** or **Previous Result** . To display the first or last result, click **First Result** or **Last Result** .
