Generate a contour plot of an expression
After you generate the contour plot of the expression, use the post-processing tools to view and analyze the plot. For example, you can use Edit Post View to modify the display.
Choose Home tab→Checks and Information group→Plot Model Contours .
In the Plot Model Contours dialog box, from the plot input list, select Expression.
To select the mesh or meshes across which to plot, in the Mesh Selection group, from the mesh selection list, select one of the following:To plot the expression across all displayed 2D or 3D meshes, select Displayed. To plot the expression across selected 2D or 3D meshes, select Selected. Click Select Mesh and select the meshes in the main graphics window.
In the Expression to Plot group, type the name of the expression you want to plot. The expression must depend on model data, not results. Note: To select an expression from a list, click the down arrow and select Expression . Select an expression and click OK.
Click OK.The software creates a standard post view and generates a smooth contour plot of the values of the expression at nodes.
(Optional) On the Results tab, click Edit Post View . Use the options in the Post View dialog box to control the display type, legend and color bar, edge and face displays, and markers and annotation. For more information, see Set up the display of a contour plot post view.
When you have finished viewing the contour plot, click Return to Model .The software deletes the post view and restores the display to your model.
