Physical Property Table
Name Sets a name for the laminate.
Label Sets a label for the laminate.

Nastran and Simcenter 3D Multiphysics solvers

Properties
These options are not used by the thermal solver in the Simcenter 3D Multiphysics solver environment.
Nonstructural Mass Sets a non-structural mass per unit area.
Damping Coefficient Sets a value for the damping coefficient of the laminate.
Inherited Stress or Strain Output Request Applicable only when Stacking Recipe is set to Inherited from layup in the Laminate Properties group.Writes ply stress and strain output to the ***.f06** file and the ***.op2** file. Select this check box to display ply results in the Post Processing Navigator.
Laminate Options Controls options that apply to the PCOMP, PCOMPG, and PSHELL cards.Select None when you want no particular option.Select MEMBrane when you want the software to write only laminate membrane properties to the solver card.Select BENDing when you want the software to write only laminate bending properties to the solver card.Select SMEAR when you want the software to ignore stacking sequence, and to set shear and bending-membrane coupling terms to 0 on the solver cards.Select SMCORE when you want the software to ignore stacking sequence, and to set shear and bending-membrane coupling terms to 0 on the solver cards. You can select this option only if you select Symmetric with Core for the Stacking Recipe. This option should not be used with PCOMPG card.Select SMCORE + transverse shear when you want the software to ignore stacking sequence, and to set shear and bending-membrane coupling terms to 0 on the solver cards. This option lets the software write the transverse shear stiffness to the solver card. You can select this option only if you select Symmetric with Core for the Stacking Recipe. This option works only when you select PSHELL from the Output Format type.
Output Format Specifies the NASTRAN card on which the software writes the laminate information. See PCOMP, PCOMPG, and PSHELL for more information.

Samcef solver

Properties
Nonstructural Mass Only appears in Structural analyses.Lets you define the non-structural mass.
Damping Only appears in Structural analyses.Lets you define damping coefficient.
Homogenization Of Properties Check this option to enable the homogenization Samcef homogenization technique.
Output Format Specifies whether plies and laminates must be exported as Samcef zones. For more details, see Export of plies and laminates into Samcef zones (Simcenter Samcef).

ANSYS solver

Material Failure Criteria
Define failure criteria (FC) Controls the computation of failure indices.Select this option when you want the solver to calculate the failure indices.Clear this option when you want to ignore failure index calculation.
Shell/Solid Formulation
Output Format Specifies the shell or solid formulation output format when exporting the laminate to the ANSYS solver.LayeredExports the laminate as layered properties.HomogeneousExports the laminate as unlayered, homogeneous properties with equivalent orthotropic materials. This is suitable for balanced and symmetric laminates.See the ANSYS documentation for more information.
Real Constants (SHELL91 /99)
Real Constants (SHELL91 /99) lets you define Added mass per unit area and Layer symmetry key. See the ANSYS documentation for more information.
Real Constants (SHELL99)
Real Constants (SHELL99) lets you define First layer for output (LP1), Second layer for output (LP2), and Elastic foundation stiffness (EFS). See the ANSYS documentation for more information.
SECCONTROLS / Real Constants
SECCONTROLS / Real Constants lets you define Added mass per unit area, Transverse shear stiffness E11, Transverse shear stiffness E22, Transverse shear stiffness E12, Drill stiffness factor, Membrane hourglass control factor, and Bending hourglass control factor. See the ANSYS documentation for more information.
SECOFFSET (SHELL181/281)
SECOFFSET (SHELL181/281) lets you define Shell Nodes Location and Shell Offset. See the ANSYS documentation for more information.

Abaqus solver

General
General lets you define Offset, Density, Section Integration, Section Points, and Continuum Shell. See Abaqus documentation for more information.
Material Orientation
Set Material Orientation Controls the creation of a laminate orientation.Select this option to create a material orientation for the laminate.Clear this option if material orientation is not necessary.
Material Orientation Vector Appears only when you select Set Material Orientation check box.Controls how you define the vector for the material orientation. You can:Select User Defined to define the coordinate system.Select Inherited from Layup to specify that the material coordinate system is defined by plies from the global layup.
Material Orientation Type Appears only when you select User Defined on the Material Orientation Vector list.Controls which coordinate system the solver uses. You can:Select Cartesian if you want to use the Cartesian coordinate system.Select Cylindrical if you want to use the cylindrical coordinate system.Select Spherical if you want to use the spherical coordinate system.
Material Orientation Lets you specify or define the coordinate system to use.Click CSYS Dialog to use the CSYS dialog box to create the coordinate system.

Keyword Option Controls how LS-DYNA defines the laminate. See the LS-DYNA documentation for more information.
This is suitable for balanced and symmetric laminates.See the LS-DYNA documentation for more information.
