Convert LMS Virtual.Lab durability material files to Simcenter 3D material XML files
In Simcenter 3D, create a Simulation file or make an existing one the work part and the displayed part.
Choose Tools→Journal→Play or press Alt+F8.
In the Journal Manager dialog box, click Browse to select the VLDBToXMLDialog.py file from the [software_installation_path]\simulation\durspecialist\matmigrator\application directory.
Click Run.The Convert VL Database to Material XML dialog box opens.
In the Source Folder box, enter the parent folder's directory of the source folder where the XML Virtual.Lab material files is saved, or click Browse to select the directory.The following is an example of the directory structure for XML Virdual.Lab material files. The converter reads the data only from the mat and snc subfolders. In this example, you must select the VL_database folder as the Source Folder. VL_database examples mat mat1 mat1_def.pdd mat2 mat2_def.pdd mat_def.pdc snc snc1 snc1_def.pdd snc2 snc2_def.pddsnc_def.pdc
In the Destination Folder box, enter the destination folder's directory where the converter saves the Simcenter 3D material XML files, or click Browse to select the folder's directory.
Select the Convert SNC check box to convert material definitions in the snc subfolder.These are the materials that their durability properties are defined by SN-curves.
Select the Convert Material check box to convert material definitions in the mat subfolder.These are materials that their durability properties are defined by expressions.
Click OK.
