Controlling the visibility of Simcenter Samcef results

You can control the visibility of results by displaying results only on selected meshes or groups of elements. To control the visibility of meshes and groups:

• Expand the Post View node in the Post Processing Navigator Contour Plots Post view 3D Elements Solid(1) Solid(2) Solid(3) 2D Elements Shell(1) Shell(2)

• Set the visibility check box to control the visibility of meshes, mesh types, or groups.

When post-processing Simcenter Samcef results, new entries may appear in the Post View tree, like Super Elements, Contact Elements or Connector Elements:

Connector Elements Rigid Elements

Here, the Connector Elements node will group all the elements that are not standard structural 3D, 2D, or 1D elements, for instance:

• Rigid Link [RBE] and MeanInterpolation [Mean] in the Rigid Elements node.

• Concentrated Mass.

• Bush [Bush] and Grounded Bush.

When you import Simcenter Samcef results from an external source, Post processing will also group the imported elements according to the Simcenter Samcef Material ID, Property ID, and/or Part ID.

For instance, if you mesh two Samcef parts with shells having the same thickness but a different material in each part, the imported results will show grouping in the Post View tree like:

2D Elements Shell Elements - 12 Elements, Material ID=1, Property ID = 1, Part ID=1 Shell Elements - 12 Elements, Material ID=2, Property ID = 2, Part ID=2
