Flow Convergence - Velocity Magnitude dialog box (Flow/ESC/Multiphysics)
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a name for the modeling object. |
| Label | Sets a unique numeric identifier for the modeling object. |
| Properties | |
| Description | Sets a description for the modeling object.Click Description to set the description in an editor box. |
| Stopping Criteria | |
| Criteria | Specifies the stopping criteria that the flow solver uses to determine if the velocity magnitude converges over the selected region.Absolute DifferenceStops the analysis when the absolute difference of the average velocity magnitude, between two consecutive iterations, is less than the value specified in the Velocity Magnitude box.Relative DifferenceStops the analysis when the relative difference of the average velocity magnitude, between two consecutive iterations, is less than the value specified in the Velocity Magnitude (%) box.Upper LimitStops the analysis when the computed average velocity magnitude is greater than the value specified in the Velocity Magnitude box.Lower LimitStops the analysis when the computed average velocity magnitude is less than the value specified in the Velocity Magnitude box. |
| Averaging Method | |
| Method | Specifies the averaging method that the flow solver uses to compute a single value for the velocity magnitude over the selected region. The flow solver uses this value to determine if the analysis is converged.RMSComputes the root mean square (RMS) of the velocity magnitude value over the selected region.Maximum ValueRetrieves the maximum velocity magnitude value over the selected region.Minimum ValueRetrieves the minimum velocity magnitude value over the selected region.Algebraic Average ValueComputes the algebraic average velocity magnitude value over the selected region.Volumetric Average ValueComputes the volumetric average velocity magnitude value over the selected region. |
| Magnitude | |
| Velocity Magnitude | Sets the target velocity magnitude convergence value that the flow solver uses to stop the analysis when the computed velocity magnitude reaches the specified target value.Note: When you choose Relative Difference as the stopping criteria, you set the target velocity magnitude as a percentage value. |
