Define forcing frequencies (Acoustics BEM)

You define the forcing frequencies at the solution level.

  • You can select frequency sweep types, such as a list of individual frequencies, linear sweep, logarithmic sweep, octave, 1/3 octave, 1/12 octave, or you can use the frequencies from all loads.

  • You can excite the model with forcing frequencies defined by the boundary conditions.

  1. Choose Home tab → Properties group → Modeling Objects .Alternatively, click Create Forcing Frequencies in the Frequency Definition group of the direct acoustic, indirect acoustic, or indirect vibro-acoustic Solution dialog box.

  2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, from the Type list, select Forcing Frequencies.

  3. Click Create.

  4. In the Forcing Frequencies dialog box, in the Frequency List group, select the appropriate frequency type.

  5. Click OK to close the Forcing Frequencies dialog box.The defined forcing frequencies are added to the Selection group table of the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

  6. (Optional) Repeat steps 3 through 5 to define additional forcing frequencies.

  7. Click Close to complete the forcing frequency definition and close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

Add the defined forcing frequencies to the solution

  1. Right-click an active direct BEM acoustic or indirect BEM acoustic or indirect BEM vibro-acoustic solution and choose Edit.

  2. In the Solution dialog box, in the Frequency Definition group, click .

  3. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, in the Selection group table, select the appropriate forcing frequency.

  4. In the List group, click to add the forcing frequency.

  5. Click Close to close the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

  6. Click OK to close the Solution dialog box.
