Solve the model

  1. (Optional) To ensure a successful solve and accurate results, run a Model Setup check, as well as element quality checks, before you solve the model.

  2. (Optional) To delete existing result files if the Model Setup check fails, select the Delete Existing Results Files at the Beginning of Solve check box in the Customer Defaults dialog box.

  3. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click the solution node and choose Solve.

  4. In the Solve dialog box, select an option from the Submit list.Note: When you select Write Solver Input File, the software creates an input file without performing a solve. You can then manually transfer the input file to a system other than the system you are currently logged onto and solve the job on the other, remote system. This lets you free up system resources on the local system. For information on preparing, for example, an acoustic or transient BEM job on a local Windows system and solving it on a remote Linux system, see Acoustics BEM remote solving workflow (Linux).

  5. To edit solution attributes, click Edit Solution Attributes.

  6. To edit solver parameters, click Edit Solver Parameters.

  7. To edit output, export, and formatting options for Simcenter Nastran, Simcenter Samcef, Abaqus, ANSYS, and LS-DYNA, click Edit Advanced Solver Options.

  8. If you previously defined dependencies between solutions and want to manage them before solving, click Prerequisite Solutions Chain and include or exclude solutions. For more information on Prerequisite Solutions, see Prerequisite Manager dialog box.

  9. Click OK to run the solve. The Analysis Job Monitor appears. When the analysis is complete, a Results node appears in the Simulation Navigator.Note: You can close Simcenter 3D or NX during the solve if you want to free up system memory for the solver. The solver will continue its processing and the solution monitor will remain open.

For more information on model checking, see Checking the completeness of your model prior to a solve.
