Reference deformation when displaying modal results in Simcenter Samcef
When you create a deformed model display, nodal displacements are initially transformed and scaled with respect to the origin of the current coordinate system.
You can also display these displacements on a Reference Deformation that is loaded from the results file. For instance, when you chain a non-linear solution with a modal one, you can display vibration modes around the instantaneous configuration (reference time) computed during the non-linear solve.
In the Deformation dialog box, in the Reference Deformation group, use the Deform With list to specify the method for determining the reference deformation:
None—No reference deformation is applied.
Default—Use the initial deformation that is specified in the results file.
Select—The software populates the lists with the existing results so you can select the result from which you want to retrieve the deformation.
