Export all design variables as modeling objects

For the Nastran DESOPT 200 solution, you can export continuous ply angle and ply thickness design variables as Design Variable — Composite Property modeling objects. The exported design variables are available in the Selection group of the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box.

  1. In the Simulation Navigator, right-click a 2D mesh collector node and choose Edit.

  2. In the Mesh Collector dialog box, in the Shell Property row, click Edit .

  3. In the Laminate Modeler dialog box, click Export All Design Variables as Modeling Objects .For this command to be available, at least one design variable must be assigned to at least one ply.

  4. Click OK.Design Variable — Composite Property modeling objects are created for all supported design variables in laminate optimization. If you click Cancel instead of OK, modeling objects are not created.
