Setting up Samcef environment defaults

To solve models in the Simcenter Samcef environment, to export or import Simcenter Samcef models, to display contact or glue conditions (Ancillary display), or to post-process results, you must specify certain Simcenter Samcef defaults in Pre/Post.

Basic defaults

You must specify the Samcef Solver Path and the Samcef Solver Memory Allocation solver parameters.

Default	Description
Samcef Solver Path	Path to the Simcenter Samcef solver.You can explicitly define a path or use the UGII_SAMCEF environment variable.
Samcef Solver Memory Allocation	Solver memory (MB).You can explicitly define a memory value or use the UGII_SAM_ZONE environment variable.

You can set these defaults in the Customer Defaults→Simulation→Samcef, Solver Parameters tab. For more information, see Solver customer defaults (Simcenter Samcef).

You can set these defaults for the export or the import.

Additional defaults for importing results

To import Simcenter Samcef results, you must first specify the Read Unknown Results default option.

Default	Description
Unknown Results	You must select this option to import Simcenter Samcef results that Pre/Post post-processing cannot understand, such as Simcenter Samcef contact results.

You can set the defaults in the Customer Defaults→Simulation→Post processor, Result tab. For more details, see Specifying default options when importing Simcenter Samcef results.

You must also set the Import XY Functions to As Graphs in Post Processing Navigator

Default	Description
Import XY Functions	Lets you specify how you want to import XY graphs results. You can choose between the Not Automatically Imported, the As Graphs in Post Processing Navigator, or the As AFU in XY Function Navigator options.

You can set these defaults in the Customer Defaults→Simulation→Samcef, Solver Parameters tab, Samcef Results Processing group.
