Plot XY results graphs (Simcenter Samcef)

After importing Simcenter Samcef XY graphs, you can plot the functions.

Graphs in the Post Processing Navigator

Under the Graphs node (), Simcenter Samcef graphs appear like:

my_afu Stress tensor - 6 components - myTensorGraph Element 6 Component 1 Stress tensor - 6 components - myTensorGraph Element 6 Component 2

The displayed graph names are explicit enough to find the right graph to plot.

XY Function Navigator

Under the associated AFU node () or User AFU node (), Simcenter Samcef graphs appear like:

my_afu 1_(,) 2_(,107Z+)

To find the appropriate function to plot, you can review the data in the columns that appear in the XY Function Navigator:

Column Information
Function Type The function type
Absc Type The abscissa type
Ord Type The ordinate type
ID Line 1 The Samcef function name
ID Line 2 The Samcef abscissa label

Note:

The ID Line 1 and ID Line 2 columns contain names that Samcef users may be accustomed to.

Plot the function

  1. Select the function to plot, or Ctrl+click or Shift+click multiple functions.

  2. Right-click the selected functions and choose Plot(XY).

  3. If the Viewport dialog bar appears, do one of the following:To plot the function in the main graphics window, click Select Viewport by Cursor and then click in the graphics window.To plot the function in a separate graphing window, click Create New Window . You can plot multiple functions, each in a separate graphing window.Expand the Toolbar group to use commands that let you edit the display properties of the graph.
