Define user-defined constraints

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→User Defined Constraint .

  2. (Simcenter Nastran or MSC Nastran only) Select SPC or SPC1 from the Type list.(Abaqus only) Select Zero-Valued Boundary from the Type list.

  3. In the Model Objects group, click Select Object and select the geometry to which the constraint will be applied.

  4. In the Direction group, specify the displacement coordinate system to use.

  5. Set the DOF values to Free, Fixed, or define a displacement value.

  6. (Optional - Abaqus only) If you set Type to Zero-Valued Boundary, to keep the specified DOFs fixed at their final values from the last General analysis step, select the Fixed check box. The solver uses the fixed values for the start of the next step.

  7. Click OK.
