| Implementation of Offsets | Available if you select Rigid Target from the Contact Algorithm list.OFFDET in the BCTPARA bulk data entry.Controls how the software implements the offsets.Choosed by Program : The software selects the implementation based upon the shape of the target surfaces. If a target surface is flat or convex, then the software uses spheres. Otherwise, the software uses normals.Sphere Around Contactor Node: The software places a sphere with a radius that is equal to the specified offset value around each contactor node. Contact is detected between the spheres and the target surface. Two Surfaces Per Contactor Surface: The software constructs two surfaces for each contactor (source) surface—an upper surface and a lower surface. The software constructs these surfaces using the offsets and the averaged contactor normals. Contact is detected between points on the constructed contactor surfaces and the target surface. |
