Surface Contact Mesh dialog box
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Auto Create Contact Pairs | Automatically creates contact pairs by detecting the overlapping faces within a specified surface proximity or capture distance. |
| Capture Distance | Specifies the surface proximity value by which overlapping faces in a model can be detected. |
| Preview | Highlights the contact pairs being created. |
| Selection Steps | Source Face — defines the dir ection for the contact pairs that get created. Once you select the source face, the Target Face icon highlights, and you are prompted to select the face to be contacted.Target Face — defines the contacted surface. This target face along with the source face form the pair for defining the contacts. After you select the target face, the two faces are paired and the input properties attached with the paired set. |
| Flip Side | Swaps faces from Source to Target, and from Target to Source.Note: The source and target faces are connected by gap elements normal to the surface. If convergence in solution is not achieved one way, you may flip the faces and try convergence in the other direction. |
