Plot vibro-acoustic contribution data
As a best practice, define all of your parameters before you plot the Nastran SORT2 results. These steps assume that you have defined all parameters.
You can open existing AFU files generated from Simcenter Nastran in the SORT2 format. You can open a single OP2 file or all OP2 files in a folder.
In the XY Function Navigator, right-click the Nastran OP2 Files- Sort2 Results node and choose Open.
Browse to the OP2 file and click OK.The file appears as a new OP2 node in the XY Function Navigator along with the functions stored in the file. The functions in the file are organized by result type and are indicated with the icon. For more information, see Manage OP2 files.
In the Nastran OP2 Files – Sort2 Results list, expand the OP2 file (indicated with the icon) that contains the function that you want to plot. The following types of contributions appear along with acceleration, velocity, displacement or pressure output in the Nastran OP2 Files – Sort2 Results list.Panel contributionsEach degree of freedom for which panel contributions are available in the OP2 data block is listed under Panel Contribution.Every degree of freedom has a list of functions, one for each panel that contributes to it.Acoustic and Structural mode contributionsThe main node directly under the file is Acoustical Modal Contributions or Structural Modal Contributions. If multiple subcases are present, they appear as a separate hierarchy under the main node. Otherwise, there will be no separate subcase and the main node will be named Acoustical Modal Contributions (Subcase 1000) or Structural Modal Contributions (Subcase 1000).The next level (either directly under the main node or under the subcase) is the Entity.Every entity has a list of functions, one for each mode that contributes to it.Acoustic modes can contribute only to acoustic entities.Structural modes can contribute to both structural and acoustic entities.
Expand the result set, such as Displacement (indicated with the icon), that contains the node or element data that you want to plot.Functions are indicated with the icon.
Right-click the selected function(s) that you want to plot and choose Plot (XY).For more information, see Plot functions.
You can also overlay different functions in the same plot. For more information, see Overlay plots.
