PSD correlation

A random event is a statistically based analysis that lets you apply one or more power spectral density (PSD) function excitations. The PSD excitations can represent a sampling of a force of which you do not know the exact magnitude. By default, the PSD functions are independent (not correlated). However, the New Correlation dialog box lets you correlate two PSD excitations using a phase angle or time delay.

Note:

You can only define correlations between the same types of excitations. For example, you can define correlations between a distributed load and another distributed load, a nodal force and a nodal force, or an enforced motion and enforced motion.
