Info
Description Lets you type a description of your mapping analysis.
Run Job in Foreground Solves the solution in foreground and freezes this software so that you cannot make changes to your model during the solve.Clear this option to be able to access this software while solving the solution.
Data Source and Destination
Source Model Results File Specifies the path and file name for the BUN source model results file. The software infers and stores the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files.
Source Model Mapping File Specifies the path and file name for the source model mapping file. The mapping file contains information about association source zones that you created in the source file using the Mapping constraint. This file has .xml or .map extensions. The software infers and stores the path to the file that you specify relative to the Simulation file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files.
Source Model Solution Units Detects the source model solution units from the BUN file automatically.
Mapped Data Destination Specifies the name and location of the directory where the solver input files containing the mapped data are written.Current Simulation DirectoryGenerates solver input files in the same directory as the current simulation. No subdirectory is created.Source Model Run DirectoryGenerates solver input files in the run directory where the source model run files are stored.Specify DirectoryGenerates solver input files in the directory that you specify in Destination Directory box.Append to Selected Results FileAppends mapping results to the BUN results file that you specify in the Results File box. The software uses this file as the source, within which to append the mapping data. The mapping output will contain both the data in the specified results file and the data obtained by mapping the specified source model results file. For example, the output file contains the data from the specified BUN results file and the mapped data from the specified BUN source model results file. The corresponding geometry and mesh of the specified results file must be identical to the target model you use for the simulation. The specified BUN results file must have results at the same output time points you specify in the Output Time Points group. To avoid overwriting results in the specified results file, exclude nodes that already have results.
Destination Directory Appears when Mapped Data Destination is set to Specify Directory.Lets you specify a directory path, where the software stores the generated solver input files.
Results File Appears when Mapped Data Destination is set to Append to Selected Results File.Lets you specify the path and file name for the BUN results file.
Output Time Points
Time Point Source Specifies how the output time points are defined.Use Steps from Structural SolutionDetermines the output time points from steps of the specified structural solution. You specify the structural solution from the Structural Solution list.Use Bun File Output TimesDetermines the output time points from the BUN source model results file that you define in the Source Model Results File box.Use Steps and Bun File Output TimesDetermines the output time points from the following:Steps of the specified structural solution. You specify the structural solution from the Structural Solution list. The BUN source model results file that you define in the Source Model Results File box.SpecifyUses the specified discrete output times. Separate values using commas or put each output time on a new line in the Select Output Times box.
Specify Output Time Range Appears when Time Point Source is not set to Specify.Restricts the output time points to the specified output time range. You set the time range in the Minimum and Maximum boxes. When you clear this check box, the software uses all output time points that are determined from steps, from the BUN file, or from both.
Settings
Extrapolation Type Sets the extrapolation behavior.Limit to Model RangeLimits the extrapolation to the temperature range of the source model. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the target model are limited by the maximum and minimum temperatures of the source model.Limit to Element RangeLimits the extrapolation to the temperature range of each element of the source model. The maximum and minimum temperatures of a target node or element are limited by the maximum and minimum temperatures of its associated element in the source model.UnlimitedSets no limit to the extrapolation.
Relaxation of Extrapolated Temperature Limits, %(Tmax-Tmin) Sets the value, percentage, for relaxing the extrapolation limits for mapped temperatures. The maximum and minimum temperatures of a target node or element are limited by the following bounds:Upper limit = Tmax + percentage ∙ abs(TmaxTmin)Lower limit = Tminpercentage ∙ abs(TmaxTmin)Tmax and Tmin stand for:The temperature bounds of the entire source model when Extrapolation Type is set to Limit to Model Range. The temperature bounds of the associated source element when Extrapolation Type is set to Limit to Element Range.
Temperature Offset Sets the temperature offset for all the mapped temperatures.
