Rupture material properties (Simcenter Samcef)

You can define a Rupture with Damage material by adding damage values to a classic elastic Samcef Orthotropic Structure material.

However, you cannot define any property in the Viscoplasticity pages of this material.

To define a Rupture with Damage material:

  • You define the elastic part of the material on the Mechanical page.

  • You define the stress and strain limits on the Strength page.

  • You define the damage options on the Damage page by selecting the Rupture with Damage model:Rupture with Damage propertyNotesParameter for Delay (ADEL), **Time for Delay (TAU)**αc and τc parameter of the delay law.Note: The Time for Delay (TAU) value is required.**Maximum Damage Value (DDEN)**To avoid a singular stiffness matrix when all the material is damaged, you can specify the maximum damage value the material can undergo. Default value = 0.999

The Rupture material in Simcenter Samcef will generate a .MAT BEHAV "PLYSRUPT" command.

For more information, see the rupture material page in the Simcenter Samcef solver documentation.
