Field XY Graph3D dialog box

Table Field Options
Appears when the field to graph is a table field.
Table Field Options list Appears when the tabular data contains structured 2D data that was imported when the Imported data is in Structured Data Format check box in the Table Data Import dialog box is selected. For the definition of structured data, see Importing ordered or structured tabular data from a text file.Specifies how the software selects the grid of points at which it performs the table lookup when it constructs the graph.Sample Interpolated ValuesUse the settings in the Independent Variable 1 and Independent Variable 2 groups to determine the grid of points.Show Structured Data as LatticeUse the tabular data points.
Plot at all tabular data points Appears when the tabular data is not structured, or the tabular data is structured and the Table Field Option list is set to Sample Interpolated Values.Directs the software to supplement the lookup points it obtains from the settings in the Independent Variable 1 and Independent Variable 2 groups with points in the tabular data. For information on how the software determines which tabular data points to use, see Graphing fields.
Independent Variable 1
Variable Specifies the first independent variable in the graph.
Bounds
Does not appear when the field is a table field constructed from structured 2D tabular data that was imported with the Imported data is in Structured Data Format check box in the Table Data Import dialog box selected, and the Table Field Options list set to Show Structured Data as Lattice.
Minimum Sets the lower limit of the range of the first independent variable.
Maximum Sets the upper limit of the range of the first independent variable.
Number of points Sets the number of points along the axis of the first independent variable at which the software looks up the values from which it constructs the graph. The settings in the Minimum and Maximum boxes are always included as two of the points. Thus, if you set Number of points to five, the range is divided into four intervals. For more information, see Graphing fields.
Independent Variable 2
Variable Specifies the second independent variable in the graph.
Bounds
Does not appear when the field is a table field constructed from structured 2D tabular data that was imported with the Imported data is in Structured Data Format check box in the Table Data Import dialog box selected, and the Table Field Options list set to Show Structured Data as Lattice.
Minimum Sets the lower limit of the range of the second independent variable.
Maximum Sets the upper limit of the range of the second independent variable.
Number of points Sets the number of points along the axis of the second independent variable at which the software looks up the values from which it constructs the graph. The settings in the Minimum and Maximum boxes are always included as two of the points. Thus, if you set Number of points to five, the range is divided into four intervals. If the Plot at all tabular data points check box is available and you select it, depending on the tabular data, the range may be further subdivided. For more information, see Graphing fields.
Dependent Variable
Variable Specifies the dependent variable to use in the graph. For a field with a single dependent variable, the software uses the dependent variable by default. For a field with multiple dependent variables, you must select the dependent variable. For example, a field with Component Force as the dependent domain has multiple dependent variables.
Control Variables
Appears when the independent domain contains three or more independent variables.
Independent variables that you did not assign to axes of the graph appear as the names of the entry boxes. Specifies values for the independent variables that you did not assign to one of the axes of the graph.
