Aerodynamic Control Surface dialog box

Name
Name Specifies the name of the aerodynamic control surface object.
Description Lets you enter a description for the aerodynamic control surface object. You can use Cut , Copy , and Paste commands to copy and paste the description.
Destination Folder
Simulation Object Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the aerodynamic control surface object is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Label
Control Surface Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the aerodynamic control surface object.
Number of Components
Number of Components list Specifies whether the aerodynamic control surface object consists of one or two control surfaces.1Select to define a single control surface such as a rudder.2Select to define a pair of control surfaces that are identical except for their hinge axes such as ailerons.
Aerodynamic Elements 1
Specify CSYS (Y-Axis as hinge line) Lets you create or select a local coordinate system whose Y-axis defines the hinge line for the aerodynamic control surface.
Group Reference Lets you use a group to specify the aerodynamic elements that comprise the aerodynamic control surface. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the aerodynamic elements that comprise the aerodynamic control surface.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Aerodynamic Elements 2
Appears when the Number of Components list is set to 2.
Specify CSYS (Y-Axis as hinge line) Lets you create or select a local coordinate system whose Y-axis defines the hinge line for the aerodynamic control surface object.
Parameters
Control Surface Effectiveness Specifies the control surface effectiveness.
Linear Downwash Flag Specifies the linear downwash flag.LDWCompute the downwash due to a unit perturbation of the control surface as part of the database.NOLDWDefine the effect of the controller by direct definition of the induced forces.
Reference Chord Length Specifies the reference chord length for the control surface.
Reference Surface Area Specifies the reference surface area for the control surface.
Lower Deflection Limit Specifies the lower deflection limit for the control surface.
Upper Deflection Limit Specifies the upper deflection limit for the control surface.
Lower Hinge Moment Limit Specifies the lower hinge moment limit for the control surface.
