Create a harmonic load event

  1. Make the Simulation file the work part and the displayed part, and choose Specialist Durability tab→Load Events group→Harmonic Event .

  2. In the Name - Description group, in the name box, type a name for the harmonic load event.

  3. In the Data Source group, from the Data Source list, select a predefined harmonic data source. You can also click Create Data Source to create a harmonic data source, using the Harmonic Data Source dialog box. For more information, see Create a harmonic data source.

  4. In the Scaling group, in the Scaling Factor box, type a value that is greater than zero for scaling the vibration and correlation input functions, which are defined in the load event’s harmonic data source.

  5. (Optional) In the Load Length group, in the Duration subgroup, select Enter Duration from the list, and specify the duration of the load event in the Duration box.If you select Use Existing Duration Information from the list, the software uses the sum of the durations that you specify, for one or multiple harmonic loads in the corresponding harmonic data source.

  6. (Optional) In the Distance subgroup, select Enter Distance from the list, and type the distance of the load event in the Distance box to specify the load event's corresponding riding distance. If you select No Distance Information Available from the list, the software does not generate any mileage information for the post-processing.

  7. (Optional) In the Temperature Source group, from the Temperature Source list, select a predefined temperature source. You can also click Create Temperature Source to create a temperature source, using the Temperature Source dialog box.

  8. Click OK.
