Managing superelement representations (Simcenter Samcef)
When you display loaded Simcenter Samcef superelements, you can choose between the following representations for each superelement:
| Graphical Representation | Description | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Full Representation | Displays the complete 3D model of the superelement. | The Full Representation will only appear if you recovered that superelement. |
| Simplified Representation | Displays a generic, symbolic representation of the superelement based on Simcenter Samcef dummy elements that have been generated during the superelement creation. | This Simplified Representation option is available only if you create a Simplified Representation (for Pre and Post-Processing) in the Output page of the Superelement Creation solution of that superelement file. |
| Symbolic Representation | Displays a symbolic representation (spider) joining the center of gravity of the superelement and the retained nodes. | This Symbolic Representation is available only if you select the Create Symbolic Representation (for Post-Processing) in the Output page of the Superelement Creation solution of that superelement. |
Note:
If no representation exists for the superelement, a default Simcenter Samcef simplistic representation will be used: a simple line joining both the Fixed Boundary Degrees of Freedom and Free Boundary Degrees of Freedom constrained nodes in an arbitrary order will be drawn.
Managing the superelement representation
You can control the representations of all the superelements in the Post View:
(1) Symbolic representation. (2) Simplified representation. (3) Full representation. Simcenter Samcef superelements
To change the representation, in the Post View,
right-click the superelement and choose the appropriate representation:
(1) The Symbolic Representation.
(2) The Simplified Representation.
(3) The FE Model (3D result) Full Representation.
