Abaqus Change Friction Definition dialog box
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name of the modeling object. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Properties | |
| Surface Interaction | Identifies the Contact Pair modeling object, which defines surface interaction. For more information, see the *CHANGE FRICTION keyword, INTERACTION parameter in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Amplitude | Lets you enter the amplitude curve that gives the time variation of the change coefficients throughout the step. When Amplitude Curve is set to Expression, you can define the curve with a constant value or expression. When Amplitude Curve is set to Field, you can define the curve with a field and a scale factor. For more information, see Fields.if you do not specify an amplitude curve, the change in friction coefficients is applied immediately at the beginning of the step or ramped up linearly over the step. For more information, see the *CHANGE FRICTION keyword, AMPLITUDE parameter in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Reset | Restores the friction properties to their original value.Reset corresponds to the RESET parameter for the *CHANGE FRICTION keyword. For more information, see *CHANGE FRICTION in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Friction | Specifies a model used to define friction. Select Rough to specify completely rough (no slipping) friction. This option corresponds to the ROUGH parameter for the *FRICTION keyword.Select Elastic Slip to specify an allowable elastic slip value to use in the stiffness method for sticking friction. This option corresponds to the ELASTIC SLIP parameter for the *FRICTION keyword.Select Slip Tolerance to define the slip tolerance Ff. This option corresponds to the SLIP TOLERANCE parameter for the *FRICTION keyword.Select Lagrange to use the Lagrange multiplier formulation for friction. This option corresponds to the LAGRANGE parameter for the *FRICTION keyword.Select Default if you do not want to introduce friction properties into the model..Select Static to directly define a static friction coefficient, μs. The static friction coefficient opposes the initiation of slipping from a sticking condition. For more information, see *FRICTION in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Elastic Slip | If you choose Elastic Slip from the Friction list, lets you specify a value for the ELASTIC SLIP parameter for the *FRICTION keyword. See *FRICTION in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide for more information. |
| Slip Tolerance | If you choose Slip Tolerance from the Friction list, lets you specify a value for the SLIP TOLERANCE parameter for the *FRICTION keyword. For more information, see *FRICTION in the Abaqus Keywords Reference Guide. |
| Static Coefficient | Specifies the value of the friction coefficient, μ, for the *FRICTION keyword. For more information, see Frictional behavior in the Abaqus Analysis User’s Guide. |
