2e. Define the casting die direction.
Select Point on Casting Plane and then specify a point on the plane where the two halves of the mold separate (that is, the parting line) or where the part is removed from the mold. You can click Point Dialog to specify the point using the Point dialog box, or select the point creation method from the list and then take the appropriate action in the graphics window.
In the Vector Normal to Casting Plane subgroup, select Specify Vector and then click the axis in the displayed triad perpendicular to the plane where the two halves of the mold separate or where the part is removed from the mold. You can also click Vector Dialog to specify the vector using the Vector dialog box, or select the vector creation method from the list and then take the appropriate action in the graphics window.
In the Die Removal Direction Vector subgroup, select Specify Vector and then click the axis in the displayed triad to indicate the direction in which the mold is separated from the part.If the part has an undercut, this vector might be at an angle from the casting plane.
If the part is manufactured by separating two halves of a mold, select the Use Second Casting Direction check box, and then specify the direction in which the second half is removed.
Click OK.
