Animate wave results

  • Animating forward and backward waves is available with Simcenter 3D Multiphysics cyclic symmetry harmonic results.

  • All the sectors in the model must be displayed. For more information, see Set up a cyclic symmetric display.

  • The number of frames is fixed to the number of sectors.

Tip:

Use the Save Frames in Memory check box to choose to save frames in memory or load each frame during the animation.

  • If you select the Save Frames in Memory check box, the animations are smoother after the first cycle especially when an animation requires a considerable time to load each frame. Saving frames in memory requires memory.

  • If you clear the Save Frames in Memory check box, the performance of each frame of an animation is based on the time required to load each frame. However, editing and deleting the animation are faster.

  1. In the Post Processing Navigator, select the post view you want to animate that contain Simcenter 3D Multiphysics cyclic symmetry harmonic results. To animate multiple post views, hold Ctrl and click each post view node to select it.

  2. Choose Results tab→Animation group→Animate , or right-click a post view in the Post Processing Navigator and choose Animate.

  3. From the Animate list, select Result.

  4. From the Style list, select Forward Wave or Backward Wave.

  5. (Optional) Set the display:In the Synchronized frame delay (mS) box, type the delay between frames. Shorter delays produce a smoother animation, but the animation plays faster.Select the Full-cycle check box to animate from the first frame to the last frame, and then reverse the direction of the animation through all frames back to the first frame.Select the Synchronize frame change for all post views check box when you select multiple post views to ensure that all post views use the same delay setting.

  6. Click Play .
