Step/Subcase Association Manager dialog box
| Type | |
|---|---|
| Type | Specifies the type of boundary conditions to manage. Depending on your solver and solution type, the available options can include Loads, Constraints, or Simulation Objects. |
| Filter | |
| Select Type | Filters the list of boundary conditions by property. Choose from:All shows all boundary conditions of the specified type that are appropriate for steps in the selected solution.Folders shows only boundary conditions folders. Selecting a folder associates all boundary conditions in the folder with the corresponding step.Boundary condition creation methods. Choose from a list of available boundary condition commands for the current step and solution. For example, if you have selected a linear statics solution and specified Loads as the type, you can choose from loads such as Force, Pressure, Torque, Bearing, and so on. |
| Specify Wildcard | Filters boundary conditions by name. Specify a string using the wildcard character (*****). |
| Filter | Applies the current filter settings to the listed boundary conditions. |
| Step List or Subcase List (Nastran) | |
| Step ID or Step Name****Subcase ID or Subcase Name (Nastran) | For each step or subcase, the table shows the status of all boundary conditions defined in the model. Indicates that a given boundary condition is active for this step. Indicates that the boundary is not included in this step in the solution. Indicates that the boundary condition is not valid for this step. To turn a particular boundary condition on, click the corresponding cell containing a to change it to . To turn boundary conditions on or off across multiple steps or subcases, right-click a cell and use the following commands:Set Row On to apply all available boundary conditions in a selected step or subcase.Set Row Off to remove all available boundary conditions from a selected step or subcase.Set Column On to apply a selected boundary condition to all steps or subcases.Set Column Off to remove a selected boundary condition from all steps or subcases.Set All On or Set All Off to turn on or off all available boundary conditions in all steps or subcases. When in the scaling view, to apply a scale factor across multiple steps or subcases, right-click a cell that contains a scale factor, and use the following commands:Set Scale on Row to apply this scale factor to all loads in this step/subcase.Set Scale on Column to apply this scale factor to this load in all steps/subcases.Set Scale on All to apply this scale factor to all loads in all steps/subcases.To export all the listed data, right-click an empty table cell and choose:Export to Browser to export an HTML formatted table to your browser.Export to Spreadsheet to export the data to a spreadsheet.Export to CSV to save the current associations to a comma-separated values file. When you export the boundary condition-step associations to a spreadsheet or CSV file, you can then edit the data in a spreadsheet, which may be more convenient if you have a large number of associations. To import the association data back into this software, right-click an empty table cell and choose Import from CSV. Changes are applied when you click Apply or OK. |
| Switch Rows and Columns | Transposes the presentation of the Step List. Click the button to alternate between displaying assigned boundary conditions per step and associated steps for each boundary condition. |
| Switch to Scaling View | Lets you apply a scale factor to loads. You can then click in the cell for a load-step association and enter a real number for the scale factor. After you specify a scale factor for a load-step association, you can right-click that cell to select from a menu that lets you apply that scale factor to the entire row, column, or to the entire table. When you apply a scale factor to a load set, the scale factor is applied to all loads in the load set.To remove a load from a step, type N in the cell. |
| Switch to Icon View | When the current view is the scaling view, clicking this button returns the view to the default icon view. |
