Checking the completeness of the Simcenter Samcef model prior to solving

Use the Model Setup command to verify that your model contains all the necessary items for the analysis. The software verifies, for example, that the model contains elements, loads, constraints, and materials. The software displays the results of a check in a separate Information window, along with an error summary for each topic.

To fit Simcenter Samcef solvers requirements, some checks are performed such as:

Objects Checks
Materials Material law completeness, such as compulsory properties, stress-strain laws definition, and damage properties values.Material properties combination validity, such as the combination of Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, and shear modulus.Assignment of materials to meshes.Material orientation.
Meshes, physical properties, element associated properties Assignment of physical properties to meshes.Element properties such as beam section and orientation definitions, shell and membranes thicknesses, bushing and springs properties.Missing inherited properties.
Constraints Unresolved conflicts.
Loads Load definition and its support completeness.Unresolved conflicts.Completeness of the combination of different types of loads on the same support.
Laminates Stacking sequence definition.Laminates zone definition.Uniqueness of ply global IDs throughout the model.
Simulation objects Contact and glue condition supports and parameters values.Completeness of the contact and glue choice of parameters and the active solution type.(Thermal) Fluid network definition and Simcenter Amesim model consistency.Check completeness of birth and death times on elements.
Solutions Solver choice and solver parameters consistency.Subcases time intervals overlap.Solutions chaining parameters and required computation files existence.Units systems consistency across chained models.Incompatible physical and mesh associated data properties with selected solutions parameters. When using super elements:Check the existence of the Fixed Boundary Degrees of Freedom and masses when performing a dynamic Superelement Validation.Check the existence of nodal displacement CSYS when importing Nastran op2/op4/DMIG super elements.Check the existence of both .op2 and .op4 files when importing a Nastran OP2/OP4 super element.
Model Pending FEM updates.
