Fatigue Correction Factor dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Cumulated Fatigue Correction | Sets a fatigue correction parameter that represents the multiplication product of all correction factors, such as surface and size correction. With regard to surface, this parameter accounts for changes in the surface roughness between the actual component and the specimens from which the basic constant amplitude life curve were determined. It is defined as the endurance limit of the rough specimen over the endurance limit of a polished specimen. With regard to size, this parameter accounts for the size difference, if needed, between the actual component and the specimens from which the basic life curve (in the strain-life approach) or the SN-curve (in the stress-life approach) were determined. It is defined as the endurance limit of the component over the endurance limit of the lab specimen. This fatigue correction parameter can be any positive value; there is no upper limit. |
