Appear when you edit a data source.
Display the source of the data source, either an external file or an object in the Simulation Navigator. You can change the source.
| Source | |
|---|---|
| External File | Imports results to use as a data source. |
| From Navigator | Selects the data source from the Simulation Navigator. |
General selections and settings
| Source | |
|---|---|
| File Browser | When editing a data source, appears when Source is set to External File. Lets you import results to use as a data source.Type a path and file name or click Browse to browse to the file. For information about the supported results, see Data sources supported for post-processing scenarios. The software infers and stores the path to the file. If the location of the file changes, the software uses the stored relative path information to try to locate the file. For more information, see Relative path support for external files. |
| Select Object | When editing a data source, appears when Source is set to From Navigator. Lets you select a load recipe, a result node, or a simulation object Note: You can select any simulation object from the Simulation Navigator, but scenario-based post processing recognizes only transfer admittance simulation objects. All other simulation objects appear as Unrecognized Data Source in the data sources list. |
| Settings | |
| Pre-Processing Groups and Meshes are Valid in Post | Appears for Pre/Post only. Associates the data source with the currently displayed pre-processing data so you can work with the underlying geometry in post-processing scenario contour plots. For example, you can select polygon edges and faces when identifying, graphing, annotating, or showing or hiding results. A Simulation file that is valid for the data source must be the displayed or work part. A FEM or assembly FEM cannot be the displayed or work part. |

| Hierarchy | Sets whether to maintain the folder hierarchy of the results. If you select the Hierarchy check box, the software maintains the folder hierarchy of the results. If you clear the Hierarchy check box, the software ignores the folder structure of the results and groups each type of data into one data definition. For more information, see Maintaining the folder hierarchy and renaming channels. |
| File Loading | Specifies the files to load. All files in the directoryLoads all the files in the folder.Only selected fileLoads only the selected file.**All subsequent files (time step)**Loads all the subsequent files (time step). |
| File name separator | Specifies the separator that divides the meta-ID of a file from its root solution name, either: **@Example: SolutionName@mesh.cgns_**Example: Fluid_Q_003881.cgns |
| Unit System | |
| Mass | Specifies the mass unit when the .cgns file does not contain unit information. |
| Length | Specifies the length unit when the .cgns file does not contain unit information. |
| Delta Time | Specifies the delta time when the .cgns file does not contain unit information. |
| Temperature | Specifies the temperature unit when the .cgns file does not contain unit information. |
| Angle | Specifies the angle unit when the .cgns file does not contain unit information. |
| Evaluation Nodes | |
| Pressure | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the pressure measure. |
| Mass Density | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the mass density measure. |
| Speed of Sound | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the speed of sound measure. |
| Temperature | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the temperature measure. |
| Velocity | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the velocity measure. |
| Nodal Area | Specifies the names of the .cgns nodes that identify the nodal area vector measure. |

| Format | Select the type of file format:GraphCsvContains 2D plot data exported from Functions and Graphing. For more information about the format, see the Export Data dialog box. StiffnessCsvContains stiffness (frequency response function) data. For more information about the format, see Stiffness CSV format for direct load identification. |
| Hierarchy | Sets whether to maintain the folder hierarchy of the results in the Element group of Scenario Based Data-Visualization dialog box.If you select the Hierarchy check box, the software maintains the folder hierarchy of the results. If you clear the Hierarchy check box, the software ignores the folder structure of the results and groups each type of data into one data definition. For more information, see Maintaining the folder hierarchy and renaming channels. |

| Use Standard Simcenter 3D Motion Channel Names | Sets how the names of the types of data in the file (the channel names) appear in the Elements group of Scenario Based Data-Visualization dialog box.If you select the Use Standard Simcenter 3D Motion Channel Names check box, the software renames the channels based on the standard Simcenter 3D Motion Solver variable names (for example, ax for Acceleration (X), x for Displacement (X)). Therefore, the list in the Elements group contains the following:**Root |
| Format | Select the type of file format:Test.LabContains a Simcenter Testlab database. TecwareIs a Tecware Universal file that contains transient series. |
| Hierarchy | Sets whether to maintain the folder hierarchy of the results. If you select the Hierarchy check box, the software maintains the folder hierarchy of the results. For example, if you organized the results per run, maintaining the hierarchy lets you find the data based on the internal file path. If you clear the Hierarchy check box, the software ignores the folder structure of the results and groups each type of data into one data definition. For example, if you organized the results per sensor in a Simcenter Testlab database, and you want to see all the data in the file, you can ignore the hierarchy and therefore, decrease the levels. For more information, see Maintaining the folder hierarchy and renaming channels. |
| Hierarchy Level for Subcase | Appears when Format is set to Test.Lab.Specifies the level to which folder names are concatenated to simulate subcases. |

| Hierarchy | Controls whether to maintain the folder hierarchy of the results. If you select the Hierarchy check box, the software maintains the folder hierarchy of the results. If you clear the Hierarchy check box, the software ignores the folder structure of the results and groups each type of data into one data definition. For more information, see Maintaining the folder hierarchy and renaming channels. |
