Mesh Control dialog box–Cylinder density type options
| Selection | |
|---|---|
| Select Targets | Lets you select a hole or connected loop of edges on which to define a Cylinder type of density.Note: You can use the Cylinder Faces smart selection method to have the software select cylinders that have a radius or angle value in a range that you specify. For more information, see Select cylinder faces.. |
| Mesh Parameters****Along Axis | |
| Spacing Type | Controls how you define the spacing of the elements along the axis of the cylinderSelect None if you do not want to control the spacing of the elements along the axis of the cylinder. If you select None, the software uses the global mesh size to generate the elements along the axis during meshing.Select By Number if you want to specify the number of elements to create along the axis of the cylinder. Enter the number of elements to create in the Number of Elements box.You can specify the number of elements as an integer value, or you can specify the number as an expression. See Expressions for more information.Select By Size if you want to specify the size of elements along the axis of the cylinder. Enter the target element size in the Element Size box. |
| On Circumference | |
| Mesh Density By | Controls how you define the spacing of the elements around the circumference of the cylinder.Select None if you do not want to control the spacing of the elements around the circumference of the cylinder. The software uses the global mesh size to generate the elements around the circumference of the cylinder during meshing.Select By Angle if you want to specify the total number of elements around the circumference of the cylinder. Specify the total number of elements to create around the circumference in the Elements Per 90 deg box.Select By Number if you want to specify the size of elements around the circumference of the cylinder. Enter the target number of elements in the Number of Elements box. |
| Freeze Geometry | Ensures that the software preserves the boundaries of the selected cylinders during meshing. If the software needs to pinch or merge edges during the geometry abstraction phase of meshing, this option ensures that the abstraction occurs in the direction away from the cylinder. |
| Mesh Quality | |
| Aspect Ratio | Lets you specify the aspect ratio value that you want the software to maintain for the elements on the cylinder during meshing. If the software cannot maintain the specified aspect ratio value with the specified element size and minimum element size, then it reduces the Along Axis element size. |
