Type	Specifies the type of entities to select: MeshesAll nodes or elements in the mesh are selected.Component FEM.Appears for Pre/Post when an assembly FEM is loaded. All nodes or elements in the component FEM are selected.Elements Nodes
Method	Specifies the method to select the meshes, elements, and nodes.Pick from ModelLets you select meshes, elements, and nodes in the graphics window. For Pre/Post, also lets you select component FEMs. By Entity IDsAppears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you select meshes, elements, and nodes by typing their IDs in the Entity Label box.Entities in GroupAppears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you select elements or nodes in a predefined group.
Select Entity	Available when Method is set to Pick from Model.Lets you select meshes, elements, and nodes in the model in the graphics window. For Pre/Post, also lets you select component FEMs.
Pick	Appears when Method is set to Pick from Model.Specifies the method by which you can select entities in the model. SingleLets you select individual meshes, components, elements, and nodes in the graphics window. If more than one component or assembly FEM is available at the selected location, a list of available components appears. Select a FEM from the list.**Box (Visible)**Appears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you drag a selection box to select nodes or elements that are visible in the model's current orientation in the graphics window. Nodes or elements that are hidden behind other post view elements are not selected. You must draw the box around the entire mesh to select it.**Box (All)**Lets you drag a selection box to select nodes, elements, or meshes. Entities or meshes that are hidden behind other post view elements are also selected. You must draw the box around the entire mesh to select it.MeshAppears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you select an entire mesh. All nodes or elements in the mesh are selected.Feature FaceAppears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you select all nodes or elements located on a feature face.Feature EdgeAppears when Type is set to Node or Element.Lets you select all nodes or elements located on an edge.Polygon FaceAppears for results with an associated solution and CAD geometry. Entity Label	Appears when Method is set to By Entity ID.Sets the IDs of the entities to hide or show. You can type multiple IDs by separating them with commas. Click to confirm your entry.
Group	Appears when Method is set to Entities in Group.Specifies the group of elements or nodes to hide or show. Click Apply Group to apply the selection.
Boolean	Determines how you can specify meshes, elements, or nodes in the model. The Boolean operation you select is applied to all subsequent element selections, regardless of the selected method.Add to Selection Adds all selected meshes, elements, or nodes to any existing selection.Add to Selection and Deselect Duplicate Pairs Adds any unique result of applying the current method, and clears the selection of meshes, elements, or nodes found by both methods.Deselect Clears any meshes, elements, or nodes that were previously selected.Select Only Not Already Selected Selects only those meshes, elements, or nodes found by the current method not previously listed.Select Only Already Selected Selects only meshes, elements, or nodes found by the current method that are already selected.
Mark IDs	Appears when Type is set to Element or Node. Displays the ID of each selected element or node in the graphics window.
Clear Highlights	Removes all the identifying labels or IDs from the display of the model. Clear Highlights does not clear the selection of the meshes, elements, or nodes.Note: The identifying labels or IDs return if you select more entities and the Mark IDs check box is selected.
Clear Selection	Clears the selection of all meshes, elements, or nodes.
